Operator profile

Waymo

Alphabet · Mountain View, California · founded 2009

Waymo operates fully autonomous ride-hailing in multiple US markets. Riders use the Waymo app in direct-service markets and Uber in Austin and Atlanta. Availability and rider admission still vary by city, so the market record—not this company profile—determines whether a ride is bookable.

Waymo airport access

Airport permission is granted airport by airport, and city coverage does not imply it.

Terminal 3 and 4 curbside service runs 24/7. The app may route you to the terminal curb or to a Sky Train station instead — and for a station pickup Waymo’s instruction is to request the ride AFTER boarding the train, not after arriving at the station, so the car meets you rather than waiting. Corrected on 2026-08-17 against the operator’s own wording.

Waymo is offering SFO access to a limited number of riders. There is still no terminal curb service in the current operator instructions; the Grand Hyatt point is the shorter of the two AirTrain rides.

Previously recorded as conflicting: Waymo listed Terminal A as Bus Stop 8 while the airport authority listed Stop 9. Both sources were re-read on 2026-08-17 and now agree on Stop 9. For Terminal B the two describe the same area differently — Waymo says outside the Rental Car Center, the airport lists Ground Transportation Island Stop 7 — so both wordings are carried.

Anyone already admitted to ride in San Antonio can use the airport service; city rider access is still being expanded.

AUS is not included in Waymo’s current airport-service instructions, and on a 2026-08-17 check the airport’s own ground-transportation pages name no autonomous operator either — they route all ride-app pickups to the Consolidated Rental Car Facility behind the Red Garage, reached by tram. Two source classes, same answer. Neither is an airport prohibition.
