Widely reported as a driverless launch, but Waymo’s own announcement says it will "soon begin" fully autonomous operation and that those rider-only trips are "initially for employees", with the public expected later. Its 13 August 2026 Allegiant Stadium partnership — which promises a dedicated Waymo pickup area for games, concerts and major events — still asks fans to "express interest in being among the first to ride with Waymo in Las Vegas", which confirms public service had not started. You cannot hail one yet.

Airport access
Airport permission is negotiated separately from city permission, so a service can run across the whole metro and still be barred from the airport.
LAS is not included in Waymo’s current airport-service instructions.

Checked on 2026-08-17: Zoox’s own rider pages publish no LAS pickup instruction — its Las Vegas material refers to journeys to and from the airport only as marketing prose, not a rider instruction — and the airport’s ride-share pages cover permitted TNCs without naming an autonomous operator. Neither absence is a prohibition.
